Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui might not be everyone's idea of a romantic hero, but the actor enjoyed a day out with a leading lady, actress Valentina Corti, in Rome. The actors are currently shooting for Tannishtha Chatterjee's directorial debut. According to reports, the day out was actually among the tasks set by director Chatterjee to get her actors acquainted with each other.

Posting the picture on Wednesday, Siddiqui seemd to rouse curiousity among his fans. However, Mumbai Mirror has now reported that the actors are simply co-stars in Chatterjee's upcoming film.

The report quoted Chatterjee saying, "I knew she was the one the first time I met her. Valentina is very beautiful, a great actress and well-known in Italy. I did a few days of workshops with both of them before we started shooting and they get along really well, joking and pranking each other. She is a fun person."

Corti, 44, is a popular actress on Italian television, and has been a part of shows like Don Matteo, All the Music of the Heart and Titanic: Blood and Steel.

In addition to spending the day in Rome, the two actors were tasked with several challenges by the director. They even spent the evening having dinner, as part of the bonding process.

The film, yet untitled, is set to mark Chatterjee's debut as a director. It is also the reunion of Chatterjee and Siddiqui, who share a long history. Apart from being co-stars on Dekh Indian Circus (2011) and the Academy Award nominated Lion (2016), they have also been peers at the National School of Drama, Delhi.

Produced by Eros International, Pankaj Razdan and Ravi Walia, the film is based on strange experiences of Chatterjee during her journey to an international film festival.
