A fortnight ago, the makers of Satyameva Jayate released the 'Dilbar' song, a remake of a popular song from Sirf Tum (1999), featuring actress Sushmita Sen.

Moroccan-Canadian dancer Nora Fatehi impressed viewers as the belly dancer in the remake, that also had a new Arabic theme. The making of the song was shared today (17 July).

The song has fine music and singing, but its USP is Fatehi's performance. The Arabic theme saw Fatehi bring her belly-dancing skills to the fore.

Fatehi is said to have choreographed quite a few portions of the number herself. The lead choreographer is Adil Shaikh.

It is not just fans who are raving about Fatehi's performance; Satyameva Jayate male lead John Abraham was stunned by her dancing skills. “Nora, I don’t know whether she has bones in her body," he remarked in the video. "The way she dances, my bones hurt watching her dance.”

Fatehi shot for the song on an empty stomach. “I was dancing on an empty stomach. I didn’t even have breakfast. I was that nervous, that scared that I didn't even eat,” she recounted.

Without meaning to disrespect Sushmita Sen or the original song, John didn’t hesitate to rate the remake higher than the original. “I prefer the remake more," he said. "I’m really enjoying it.”

The 'Dilbar' song is a dream come true for producer Bhushan Kumar, who had long been wanting to recreate the original. He also wanted belly dance to be a part of the remake.

“It’s the kind of thing I wanted, and I was visualizing that this should be the kind of belly dancing, and the Arabic feel it should have. We are getting that and so I’m very happy,” he said.

Satyameva Jayate is set to be released on 15 August. Watch the making video below and tell us what you think of the film's box-office prospects:
