Karwaan song: Another quirky journey begins in soulful 'Chota Sa Fasana' by Arijit Singh

'Chota Sa Fasana' is composed by Anurag Saikia with lyrics by director Akarsh Khurana.

Shriram Iyengar

Actor Irrfan Khan has an instinctive connection with cross country trips. After Piku (2015), Qarib Qarib Singlle (2017), the actor is again taking off on a journey in Akarsh Khurana's upcoming, Karwaan (2018). The song 'Chota Sa Fasana', is a melodious beginning to the quirky journey film which also features Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.

The song is a simple composition, but takes some time to set in. The opening verses, by Khurana, sound simplistic. But that is a pleasant addition to a fairly hummable song. With Arijit Singh leading the vocals, the song rolls on smoothly. The use of a subtle background arrangement grows on you with each hearing. The composition by Anurag Saikia is well layered. The vocals remain the high point with Arijit Singh delivering another wonderful song.

The visuals of the song correspond with the journey of the three characters, Dulquer, Khan and Palkar, as they try and find the right corpse in the film. The song traces the quirks, accidents, joys and little pleasures of their long journey through the south from Mumbai.

Karwaan will be released on 3 August.
