In news that might emerge as the shock of the day, a man has claimed actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to be his mother by means of IVF (in-vitro fertilisation). Deccan Chronicle newspaper reported that 29-year old resident of Andhra Pradesh, Sangeeth Kumar had claimed that Rai Bachchan had given birth to him in 1988. The actress would have been 15 years old at the time.
In the report, Kumar was quoted as saying, "I was born to her by IVF in London in 1988. I was brought up in Chodavaram from age three to 27. I was with my grandmother Brinda Krishnaraj Rai's family at the age of one and two in Mumbai. My grandfather Krishnaraj Rai died in April 2017 [he died on 18 March 2017], and my uncle's name in Aditya Rai."
While there is no proof of the matter, Kumar has stated that he has been 'manipulated' by relatives. "I'm getting enormous headache and anger at my native place, most of my relatives have manipulated things since childhood, otherwise I would have come back to my mother before itself with clear information. Due to lack of information, I could not come to my mother, so now I got all clarity. Ultimate thing is I want my mom (sic)," he is quoted as saying.
This might not be the first instance of someone launching claims at a celebrity. Last year, actor Dhanush had to fight a legal battle after a couple filed a paternity claim against him at the Madras high court. The couple was demanding Rs65,000 in maintenance from the actor as well.
