Fans of Tamil actor Joseph Vijay are in for a celebration after composer AR Rahman joined the list of big names working on the actor's upcoming Thalapathy 62 project. This will mark the fourth collaboration between Rahman and the actor after the successes of Udhaya (2003), Azhagiya Thamizh Magan (2007) and Mersal (2017).
Rahman is the latest name to join in for the project, after director AR Murugadoss. Actress Keerthy Suresh is reportedly a frontrunner to play the lead opposite Vijay in the film, that will also have Malayalam cinematographer Girish Gangadharan of Angamaly Diaries (2017) fame handling the camera.
While Thalapathy 62 was initially scheduled to go on floors by 19 January, it has run into some delays and the team is expected to begin filming by the end of January.
The film is scheduled for a Diwali release, which will pit it against actor Selvaraghavan's Suriya 36 and director Ajith's Viswasam.
