Mumbai - 25 Jan 2018 14:01 IST
Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 was to be released this year on 23 November. But the film's release has been postponed to 25 January 2019 to align with the Republic Day weekend. Super 30 is directed by Vikas Bahl.
The news was shared by senior trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh in the early hours today on his Twitter page. He said, “#Super30, the Anand Kumar biopic that was slated for release on 23 Nov 2018, will now release on 25 Jan 2019... Stars Hrithik Roshan... Directed by Vikas Bahl... #RepublicDayWeekend.”
Super 30 is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar. The man from Patna, Bihar is famous for teaching aspiring Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) students hailing from poor backgrounds.
The postponement also means that Super 30 will now clash with the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Thackeray, the biopic on the late Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. Directed by Rahul Panse and produced by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, the bilingual will be released on Thackeray’s birthday on 23 January 2019.
