Director Ravi Jadhav’s Marathi movie Nude has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an ‘A’ certificate. More importantly, the film was passed without any cuts.

Jadhav shared the news on his Facebook page. He said the film received a standing ovation from the jury, which included actress Vidya Balan.

“Our film Nude received an ‘A’ certificate without any cuts!!! The entire CBFC special jury team headed by Mrs Vidya Balan gave us a standing ovation!!! Thank you everyone for your kind support,” he said in a post where he also shared a new poster of the film.

Starring Kalyanee Mulay, the film is the story of a woman who is compelled to become a nude model in an art school. The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, who plays an artist.

Nude was in the news last year after it was dropped on the intervention of the Union information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry from the list of films chosen for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Along with Nude, Malayalam movie S Durga, which was earlier titled Sexy Durga, was also dropped from the festival.
