Zoya Akhtar’s fourth film as a director, Gully Boy, inspired by the lives of Mumbai’s street rappers, went on the floors on Sunday, 14 January. The film which pairs Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt for the first time has been eagerly awaited since it was announced, with fans following each announcement about the film with bated breath.

And now, just two days since shooting began, pictures of Singh and Bhatt from the sets of the film has been revealed while they were shooting on location in Mumbai. A number of fan sites of the two stars have posted their photos on social media.

A clean-shaven, young-looking Singh is dressed in denims while shooting for a scene with Bhatt, who is seen in a pale yellow hijab. Through a series of photographs, it seemed as if Bhatt’s character needed some convincing from Singh’s character in the scene. The animated pair were also spotted talking to writer-director Zoya Akhtar in between shots.

Gully Boy is due to be released some time this year.

Alia Bhatt will next be seen with Vicky Kaushal in Meghana Gulzar’s Raazi, while Ranveer Singh will finally get to unveil his performance as Alauddin Khilji when Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat is released on 25 January.
