Among the many controversies that broiled in 2017, Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar's battle over 'nepotism' was one of the more bitter ones. After calling Johar the "flag bearer of nepotism" on his show, Koffee with Karan, the actress is set to join Johar as a guest judge on his upcoming television reality show, India's Next Superstars.

In a quote to Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, Ranaut confirmed her signing up as one of the judges. "I am looking forward to being on the show. It is a professional commitment for which I'm being paid. What is delightful is that Karan is okay with doing the show with me and seems to be slowly warming up to me," Ranaut said.

The director and the actress fell out bitterly after her appearance on his chat show. Her jibes at Johar on nepotism divided the industry, with Johar retaliating by asking her to stop playing the 'victim card'. The battle escalated further when Johar, Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan took to the IIFA 2017 stage with a skit on how 'nepotism rocks'. The relationship between the two plummeted and they began avoiding each other at public events.

But it seems Johar and Ranaut have put aside these personal differences for a professional cause. Recently, speaking to news agency PTI, Johar of the possibility of Ranaut coming on board on the show, "Our heart is big, our house is open to all. We will happily, lovingly and respectfully welcome her on the show."

Incidentally, the tagline of the show reads 'Na Khandaan...Na Sifarish...Bollywood ko hai sirf talent ka intezaar (No family connections, no reccomendations...Hindi film industry awaits talent).'

In the report, Ranaut was also quoted as saying, "I am the epitome of the tagline being a self-made woman and actress myself, which is precisely why the channel wants me."

The show is set to air on Star Plus channel from 13 January.
