Tigmanshu Dhulia's much delayed Milan Talkies might finally have found its leading man.

After Imran Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Harshvardhan Kapoor, Ali Fazal has reportedly been roped in as the lead for Dhulia's edgy romantic drama.

Sources say that Ali has read the script and given his nod. The film's shoot will commence in March and Fazal is expected to start reading sessions and prep for Milan Talkies soon.

"He has given his dates and Tigmanshu is currently on the lookout for the leading lady. It is set in North India and Ali will start shooting in the second week of March after he returns from the Academy Awards ceremony to be held on March 4," sources close to the actor said.

The actor has become a known face after sharing screenspace with Hollywood dame Judi Dench in the Stephen Frears' Victoria & Abdul (2017).

Apart from Fazal, Milan Talkies will also have Sanjai Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi in supporting roles.

In a quote to Hindustan Times, a daily, Dhulia said, "The film is about single screen and situation of such talkie is actually really bad in current days. They have lost its old world charm. We will shoot in portions like exterior can be of one cinema, interior of other and projection room somewhere else. We have seen many in Lucknow — Gulaab, Pratibha, Jai Bharat and Hind."

Ali is soon to take off to the United States to work on his next project, and will also attend the Academy Awards gala function on 4 March in Los Angeles. Victoria & Abdul has been nominated for the Best Costume, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling award categories.

Apart from this, the actor has recently wrapped up the shooting for Prakash Raj’s Tadka with Nana Patekar, Taapsee Pannu and Shriya Saran. He will also be seen opposite Diana Penty in the sequel of 2016's hit comedy, Happy Bhaag Jayegi.
