While there were rumours suggesting the possibility of a Tamil remake, Ellipsis Entertainment's Tanuj Garg, confirmed the news through a tweet on Wednesday (28 February) morning.

The film which earned the Filmfare award for Best Actress for Vidya, along with a Best Film nomination, told the story of an enterprising housewife who decides to become a radio jockey on a late night radio show.

The Tamil version will be directed by Radha Mohan, who is well known for a similar style of family films with sensitive portrayal of women characters.

The director has previously worked with Jyotika in the critically acclaimed Mozhi (2007).

The signing of the actress was also confirmed by her husband, actor Suriya, who tweeted the news to his followers.
