It’s a common practice to release multiple posters and teasers. Each one of the several posters and teasers of Anushka Sharma's upcoming film Pari has left an impression. The makers have now released a new haunting poster of Pari that leaves you both scared, and empathetic towards the character.
Some blood oozes from her face, but it is now dry and scarred. The blood loss is sucking the life out of Pari’s face. As haunting as this image is, there’s a sense of empathy, helplessness that goes through the onlooker’s mind.
The image takes you to the haunting picture of Anneliese Michel, the German woman who was said to be possessed by a host of evil entities. So troubled was she by her state of mind, that she stopped eating and was reduced to bare bones. Once bright and beautiful, Michel made a pale figure in her final days. She died at 23, with medical science listing malnutrition as her cause of death.
A few films were loosely bad on the exorcism of Michel, most notably The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005).
Pari doesn’t look as pale as Michel, but the new poster does shows as someone who is going through physical and mental hell. This clearly is no fairy tale.
Pari is set to be released on 2 March.
