The actor made a sarcastic comment on the Nirav Modi-Punjab National Bank transaction fraud case by sharing the poster of his 2017 flop film Bank Chor.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh took a dig at the Nirav Modi-Punjab National Bank (PNB) transaction fraud case. The actor shared a poster of his 2017 Hindi film Bank Chor and wrote, “I am the only ‘BANK-CHOR’ that failed.” The film had failed at the box office.
The Lai Bhaari (2014) actor was indirectly referring to the transaction fraud case making headlines for the past few days. In January 2018, PNB filed two complaints against billionaire Nirav Modi and a jewellery company alleging fraudulent transactions to the tune of about Rs11,400 crore. This was in addition to ongoing investigation against Modi for a Rs280 crore fraud case, again filed by PNB.
The actor's post instantly spread like wildfire and praises began pouring in for his wit and sense of humour.

It should also be noted that the actor sportingly took a dig at himself and the film too. While saying that he is the only Bank Chor that failed, he admitted to the failure of the film, a rare act for film stars.
Directed by Bumpy and produced by Yash Raj Films’ youth arm Y-Films, the film also starred Vivek Oberoi and Rhea Chakraborty.
This is the second time in the last week that the actor has displayed his sense of humour on Twitter. On Valentine's Day, he and his wife, Genelia D’Souza, amused their fans with a dubsmash on a scene from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).
