There have been unconfirmed reports about producer Ekta Kapoor making a sequel to the 2014 surprise hit, Ek Villain. There is also a buzz in the media that director Mohit Suri, too, is working on the sequel of the same film, but with Aditya Roy Kapur, his Aashiqui 2 (2013) actor.

Whether Kapoor is set to make the sequel of the 2014 thriller is not confirmed yet. But Suri has revealed that he hasn't been approached by the producer for the second instalment of the film.

While talking to Mid-Day, he said, “I’ve heard that I am making Ek Villain 2 and that I already have a bound script which has been given to Aditya. But nothing like that is happening. Ek Villain is a Balaji Telefilms (Ekta Kapoor) property and they haven't approached me yet.”

Instead, the filmmaker is making another film with Roy Kapur. No, it isn’t Aashiqui 3 either. It’s another film. Added Suri, “Yes, I am working with Aditya. It will be a thriller. My earlier films like Murder 2 (2011) and Kalyug (2005) were also in the same genre.”

Roy Kapur’s last film was Ok Jaanu (2017), which was the official remake of Mani Rathnam’s Ok Kanmani (2015). The film didn’t work at the box office.
