Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier has been all over the internet after a teaser of the ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ song from her debut film Oru Adaar Love went viral for her expressions. However, a complaint has been filed against the lyrics of the song. Muqueet Khan has alleged that the song's lyrics hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.

The complaint was filed at the Falaknuma police station in Hyderabad.

While talking to Times Now, a news channel, Khan said, “I am not against the song. I am just against the lyrics of the song. The song is too adorable. I love the song. I also ‘liked’ it on YouTube. After that I googled the lyrics of the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ and searched its translation. I realized that it’s about our Prophet Mohammad and his wife.”

He added, “The song is very good. They (two actors) are awesome. I admit that. But they are showing a girl and boy romancing and in the background the name of the prophet (is played).”

Director Omar Lulu is shocked at the complaint and believes that an issue is being created out of nothing. In a conversation with CNN News 18, a news channel, he said, “There is nothing against Islam or Muslims. It is a very old love song sung by all communities.”
