The official trailer of Anjan Dutt’s musical film Aami Ashbo Phirey was released today. The trailer features Swastika Mukherjee, newcomer Darshana Banik, Anindya Chatterjee and Koushik Sen with Anjan Dutt himself.

After 11 long years, Dutt, an icon of alternative Bengali music, has collaborated with his son and composer Neel for the film.

Ami Ashbo Phirey is one of the 25 films announced by SVF Entertainment Pvt Ltd (previously Shree Venkatesh Films) in January. The production house has earmarked Rs100 crore to produce the films.

Anjan Dutt has claimed he always prefers making musicals. However, he diversified his theme with his recent projects. The director of The Bong Connection (2006), Madly Bangalee (2009), and Chowrasta: Crossroads Of Love (2009) has now decided to return to his musical roots.

The film is reportedly about a journey through pain and loneliness with music as the only hope that inspires the characters to eventually forgive, forget and move on.

According to a tweet, the film will have seven songs that are also credited to have played an important role in Anjan Dutt’s personal journey so far.

Dutt has repeatedly expressed his gratitude to SVF for giving him the opportunity to tell his own stories through the songs in the film.
