In an unusual turn of events, Amitabh Bachchan has threatened to quit microblogging website, Twitter. The veteran actor is not happy with the sudden fall in the number of his followers on the social media network and has blamed Twitter for the same.

The actor came up with a post late last night which read, “T 2599 - TWITTER ..!!!??  you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! thats a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride ..  .. there are many 'other' fish in the sea - and a lot more exciting !!”

The Pink actor had celebrated getting 33 million followers last month around 22 January. His fans helped trend the hashtag #AB33Million on the occasion. At the time of going to press, his follower count stood at 32.9 million.

He wrote this caption with the picture of his film Hum (1991), in which he is seen strangling one of the villains. We wonder if he thinks Twitter is the villain here?

Just few moments before this tweet, Bachchan had shared another picture along with three others in a tweet marking 27 years of Hum. He had written, “T 2599 - 27 YEARS of 'HUM' .. BAADDUUMMBAAAAA !!! Amazing times and most importantly the creation of the song 'Jumma Chumma' by me .. Rajni with me and Govinda .. and of course the Filmfare award !! good times .. good vibrations .. good all along.”

Therefore, to share a threatening tweet just moments later came as a surprise. Let's wait and watch to know if Bachchan actually meant what he said.

Interestingly, with the fall in the number of followers, Bachchan and actor Shah Rukh Khan are now at par with 32.9 million followers each.
