The Hindi version of 2.0, meanwhile, looks like it’s headed towards Rs150 crore.
Box office: Kedarnath has an average opening day with Rs7.25 crore

Actress Sara Ali Khan’s debut, Kedarnath, notched up an average opening day with Rs7.25 crore. The love story set in the pilgrimage town had a similar opening to films like Raazi (2018) and Badhaai Ho (2018) and it remains to see if it can continue to draw in audiences against the multi-lingual juggernaut 2.0 (2018), starring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.
Kedarnath has also been banned in seven districts of Uttarakhand, where the story is set, due to its controversial love story of a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl. This might dent its overall box office prospects.
For its second Friday, the Hindi dubbed version of S Shankar’s sci-fi drama earned Rs6 crore across 4,000 screens. The numbers are down around 25% from Thursday, 6 December, when it earned Rs7.75 but the film has continued to be a draw audienes, both at the single screens and multiplexes.
If it manages to perform well on its second weekend, 2.0 could be headed towards Rs150 crore. It is estimated that the VFX-heavy film was made on a budget of Rs543 crore.
