Actress Sara Ali Khan’s debut, Kedarnath,  notched up an average opening day with Rs7.25 crore. The love story set in the pilgrimage town had a similar opening to films like Raazi (2018) and Badhaai Ho (2018) and it remains to see if it can continue to draw in audiences against the multi-lingual juggernaut 2.0 (2018), starring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

Kedarnath has also been banned in seven districts of Uttarakhand, where the story is set, due to its controversial love story of a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl. This might dent its overall box office prospects.
