Keerthy Suresh to play Sita in SS Rajamouli’s epic RRR?

Reportedly Rajamouli was impressed with Keerthy's work in Mahanati (2018), the Telugu-Tamil biopic on the legendary southern actress Savitri, and decided to rope her in.

SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated Telugu multi-starrer project, currently dubbed as RRR, was officially launched with a ceremony amidst the crème le crème of the industry in Hyderabad on 11 November. The project, to be bankrolled by DVV Danayya on a whopping budget of Rs300 crore, marks the first time collaboration of Ram Charan and Jr NTR, who are rumoured to be playing brothers in the film.

While the makers are yet to reveal the complete cast, rumours are making the rounds that Keerthy Suresh might have landed a pivotal role in the film. According to reports, Keerthy has been offered the role of goddess Sita and she has given her nod. Reportedly Rajamouli was impressed with Keerthy's work in Mahanati (2018), the Telugu-Tamil biopic on the legendary southern actress Savitri, and decided to rope her in. There are also reports that actress Priyamani has also been signed for a crucial role.

Not long ago, producer DVV Danayya, in a media interaction, had said that the film will be a visual treat. “The pre-production work has been going on for months. The estimated budget of the film will be Rs300 crore. This is going to be a visual treat for fans and audiences alike,” Danayya said.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (6 December), Rajamouli revealed that they’ve completed the first schedule of the film, which is slated to hit the screens next year or in early 2020. It’s worth mentioning that both Ram Charan and Jr NTR recently admitted to have signed the project, without listening to the script. “I believe in Rajamouli. His stories have strong content and are character-driven. I’m yet to listen to the script. Rajamouli promised me he will narrate the script soon,” Charan told reporters while promoting his latest Telugu film Rangasthalam (2018).
