After facing disappointment in the films released earlier this year, both Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar have roared back to form with 2.0. The sci-fi thriller, directed by S Shankar, has pocketed over Rs400 crore worldwide.
The Hindi dubbed version of the Tamil film enjoyed a good first Tuesday (4 December) as it bagged Rs11.50 crore nett. 2.0 (Hindi) has so far bagged a total of Rs120.25 crore nett.
The film, though, is still a long off from overtaking Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), whose Hindi version alone had earned a whopping Rs510 crore nett.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs543 crore, 2.0 was released on 7,500 screens across India. Of these, 4,000 screens showcased the Hindi version.
Produced by Lyca Productions, 2.0 has been distributed in Hindi by Dharma Productions and AA Films.
Reportedly, all the versions of 2.0 put together have grossed Rs450 crore worldwide so far and the India collection stands at Rs282.31 crore.
The film was released on 10,500 screens worldwide, excluding in China, and is expected to be released on 56,000 screens in the Middle Kingdom in May 2019.
As per sources, 2.0 has recovered Rs125 crore through the sale of satellite rights to Zee TV, and an additional Rs60 crore through the sale of digital rights to Amazon Prime Video.
