Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 1, which has been directed by Prashanth Neel, is enjoying a successful run at the cinemas, having already collected over Rs100 crore worldwide.

While it is not certain yet if the film’s success has made Yash an all-India star, it has certainly earned its director his next golden ticket.

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Prasanth Neel has been signed by UV Creations for a project with Prabhas soon. The project is in the nascent stage, but the director is expected to work on a script next year.

A source from UV Creations told Cinestaan.com that impressed with his work and vision in KGF: Chapter 1, Prasanth Neel has been offered an opportunity to direct Prabhas.

“Neel is yet to officially sign on the dotted line. But the offer has been made and since he is still basking in the success of KGF, he is yet to take a call and has requested for time. An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be made early next year,” the source said.

Meanwhile, KGF has been having a good run in all the languages it has been released in. The film was released amid tough competition, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, but has still made a splash at the box office with its grand visuals and scale.

The film’s story revolves around the rise of one man from a downtrodden background to king of the Kolar gold mines.

In the US, the film has already emerged as the biggest Kannada grosser with a collection of $400,000 and counting.
