While we largely see Digangana Suryavanshi, Anupama Agnihotri in the film's trailer and the released songs, it is Mishika Chourasia who is being promoted as the female lead of the film.
After getting clearance from FCAT, confusion over who is Rangeela Raja's lead actress

Producer Pahlaj Nihalani was relieved after the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal cleared his latest film Rangeela Raja with just three cuts, and gave it a 'U/A' certificate. Rangeela Raja is set to be released on 11 January.
However, now there is a confusion over who the leading lady of the film is. The role of Mishika Chourasia has come into focus with rumours of an alleged bias towards her at the cost of the other two female artistes - Digangana Suryavanshi and Anupama Agnihotri.
The end credits of the trailer informs that Chourasia and Agnihotri make their debut with this film. The title of the trailer on YouTube gives Govinda, Chourasia and Nihalani's names, while there is no mention of Agnihotri and Suryanvanshi.
However, it is Suryavanshi and Agnihotri who repeatedly appear in the trailer and the released songs. The makers had earlier released the 'Jogi Dil' song which also carried Chourasia's name. Being a first-time actress, it was assumed that the lady in song is Chourasia. However, it was later learnt that she is not Chourasia but is, in fact, Agnihotri.
The makers released the 'Dholi Dhol Baja' song, with the title on YouTube again carrying the names of Chourasia, Govinda and Nihalani.
Why have Agnihotri and Suryavanshi not recieved due credit in the trailer and the song credits?
“Given that they are paired opposite Govinda’s twin characters, Digangana and Anupama should be the lead actresses of the film, but that is not coming through the trailer, songs. All creative decisions are taken by Mr Nihalani. Only he can explain why Chourasia is kept at the forefront. Agnihotri and Suryanvanshi had featured in quite a few posters of the film, but all that you see now is Govinda and Chourasia. Though Chourasia’s character is pivotal to the plot, but people on the sets felt a certain bias towards Chourasia,” said a source.
Suryavanshi said she hasn't been keeping a track of what is happening but believes her character is the female protagonist. “Look, I don’t know what is happening. I have been out of track as I have been shooting for another project. Be it Rangeela Raja or any film. The first thing that you consider is that who is paired opposite the hero? If I am playing the princess Shivranjini, the wife of the male protagonist Rangeela Raja, then I guess, that would naturally make me the central heroine of the film. My character doesn’t have a ten-minute role, but she features from the beginning to the end. If there is still confusion, there is nothing more to say,” she said.
Like Suryavanshi, Agnihtori, too, is said to be shooting for another project, and is unlikely to attend Rangeela Raja’s marketing activities.
Efforts to contact Pahlaj Nihalani didn't yield any response.
