Marathi film actress Priya Bapat, who will make her digital debut with acclaimed filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor’s web-series titled City Of Dreams: Mayanagari, has called it her "dream project".

The well-known actress in Marathi cinema will be seen in this Hindi project, which means a lot to her.

“It’s a dream project for me. The story is based on politics. I am playing a character who is too passionate about her duties,” said Bapat during a conversation about the Marathi play Dada Ek Good News Aahe, which she is producing.

She is playing the role of a politician. “The role is like an image breaker. Actually I feel an actor should have no image. Like he or she shouldn’t become that character. For me, it is an image breaker from the kind of goody-goody and bubbly girl that people see me as,” she said.

Bapat has finished shooting for the project, but the OTT platform on which the series will be streamed is not yet finalised. “I was shooting for it till May-June. I have just finished its dubbing. I don’t know right now as to where it will be released and when,” she said.

This will be her first full-fledged role in a Hindi project. She has played cameos in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).
