Digital content wing Eros Now Quickies launched with Date Gone Wrong


The streaming services of Eros International is set to launch 50 short 'Quickies' series as part of their new online content strategy.

Eros International's digital streaming service, Eros Now, launched their slate of upcoming short video format films with Date Gone Wrong. The video series is the first of a slate of original short-format content that will be produced by the services in 2019. 

The company has planned close to 50 Quickies series in 2019 and aims to launch close to 100 new series on the platform. 

The first series, Date Gone Wrong, is an anthology of quirky first dates that go terribly wrong in unexpected and strange circumstances. The trailer to the series captures a hilarious take on the vast differences in the perception and truth of the dating experience in the current generation. 

Another Quickie series, Paisa Fekk Tamasha Dekh, is already in the pipeline. These original series span between 6-8 episodes, dealing with topical, current subjects with comedy and slice-of-life. 

Eros Now is targeting close to 100 originals for their digital streaming service. The platform launched Smoke, an original featuring Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Neil Bhoopalam, earlier this year. They also announced the human-trafficking drama, Flesh, featuring Swara Bhasker, which will be released on the platform in 2019. 

Speaking to Variety.com, Eros Now COO, Ali Hussain stated that the company is set to invest $50-70 million dollars into the slate of original content over the next 18 months.
