Green Gold Animation to produce new episodes of Ninja Hattori


The Indian animation studio will collaborate with Japan’s Shin-ei Animation for the new season of the long-running anime series.

Green Gold Animation, the makers of of the popular animated television series Chhota Bheem, are tying up with Japan's Shin-ei Animation to produce new episodes of the show, Ninja Hattori, first created in the 1980.

The joint collaboration will work with an experience team of writers and directors to create new episodes in 2D-HD through a digitally mastered process.  

The series airs around the world and enjoys a certain amount of popularity in India, with the series being dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Since its launch in 2006, Ninja Hattori has remained one of the top-rated kids’ shows in India.

The new rebooted series will eventually head to Netflix which will air seasons one and two early next year.

The head of animation, Takahiro Kishimoto, at Japan’s TV Asahi, of which Shin-ei is part of, stated that the company was thrilled to take forward the partnership. “This collaboration with Green Gold will be another step forward for our business development in India, and we hope it will open new doors not only for ourselves but for the entire animation industry both in Japan and India,” he said.

Bharath Laxmipati, vice president of content sales at Green Gold, in a press release, said of their association, “Working on a global show like Ninja Hattori plays an all-round win win for us as a leading animation company from India. It is an excellent opportunity to showcase our talent.”
 
Green Gold Animation's next feature film, Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka, is due to be released in 2019.
