After screening at the film festivals of Mumbai, Dharamshala and Kerala, Anamika Haskar's Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon is headed to Park City, Utah to screen at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019.
The film, starring Ravindra Sahu, Raghubir Yadav, Gopalan, and Lokesh Jain, is one of six films selected for the experimental section called The New Frontier, that showcases 'cutting-edge independent and experimental media works are by creators who are pushing artistic innovation across new mediums'. It is the only Indian film from India to make the cut.
Besides Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon, the web-series, Delhi Crime Story, starring Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, and Adil Hussain, will be shown for the first time before an audience at the festival. Written and directed by Richie Mehta, the series follows the Delhi police investigating the 2012 Nirbhaya case.
Additionally, Sandhya Suri's narrative short The Field about a poor farmer in a cornfield, and Musa Syeed's documentary short, The Dispossessed, about a faith healer in Kashmir will be screened. The latter will have its world premiere at the festival.
