Harikrishna was reportedly driving to Kavali in Nellore district to attend the wedding of a fan when the accident occurred.

Telugu actor Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder NT Rama Rao and father of actors Junior NTR and Kalyan Ram, died in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh early morning today (29 August).
According to police officials, Harikrishna, 61, was driving to Kavali in Nellore district to attend the wedding of a fan when the accident occurred. The actor-politician was driving the vehicle himself when it crashed into a median on the Nalgonda Highway. Harikrishna was reportedly thrown out of the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to the Kamineni Medical College and Hospital where he was declared dead at 7.30am.
The actor, who was the fourth son of the founder of the TDP and the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister NT Rama Rao, was also one of the senior leaders of the TDP. He was a politburo member of the party and is the brother-in-law of the current chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu.
Harikrishna made his debut in cinema as a child artiste in Sri Krishnavataram (1967) as little Krishna. Some of his well known films include Talla Pellamma (1970), Tatamma Kala (1974), Ram Raheem (1974), Daana Veera Shura Karna (1977), Sri Ramulayya (1998), Seetharama Raju (1999) Laahiri Laahiri Laahirilo (2002) and Seetayya (2003).
