It has been a busy week for singer Nikhita Gandhi. In one week, Gandhi has seen three of her songs from three different films release. With credits in 'Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe' from Stree (2018), 'Sawarne Lage' from Mitron (2018), and 'Dhyaanchand' from Manmarziyaan (2018), the singer is surely riding a wave. Now, she is adding to it with her first independent single, 'Humshakal', that released on 24 August.

A professional dentist, Gandhi began her career by auditioning for AR Rahman. She went on to sing for the Oscar winner in films like I (2015), O Kadhal Kanmani (2015), and Kaatru Veliyidai (2017).

Sung and composed by Gandhi, the 'Humshakal' song is directed by Shashwat Singh, and was shot in Antwerp and Paris. While she might be singing in a very commercial space in Hindi cinema, the single seems to focus on a quirky mix of R&B and hip-hop music.

Speaking of her foray, Gandhi said, "Humshakal is my first Hindi single as a composer and producer. I’m really excited about showing my quirkiness on screen and really hope that my Bollywood [Hindi cinema] fans and followers like my music!"

While she has been singing prolifically, 2018 has already seen her be a part of Beyond The Clouds (2018) and Sanju (2018).
