Kareena on working with Ranveer Singh: It was long due collaboration

A few weeks back, Karan Johar announced perhaps his most ambitious project, Takht.

The period drama has a stellar cast led by Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar.

One person who is delighted to be in the film is Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is thrilled to be working with Ranveer Singh.

Kapoor Khan scorched the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week on Monday. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the actress shared her thoughts on working with the Padmaavat (2018) star.

"It is great that after so many years I will be sharing screen space with him," the actress told the Press Trust of India news agency. "It was long due collaboration. He is just a phenomenal actor. It will be an honour to share screen space with him. I am very happy." 

It is not just Ranveer Singh, however, with whom Kapoor Khan will be sharing screen space for the first time. Most of the members of the cast who have been named so far have not worked with her before.

This is the first Dharma project for the Jab We Met (2007) actress since Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012). And Karan Johar will be directing her after 17 years. She had last worked under his direction in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001).

The shooting for Takht will only begin next year and the producers are targeting a 2020 release.
