Subodh Bhave and Shruti Marathe have been paired together in director Sameer Ramesh Surve’s Shubh Lagna Savdhan. The two play a married couple in the romantic comedy revolving around a destination wedding.

The teaser of the film doesn’t reveal much about the story. While this is a good thing, what irks the viewer is that the teaser has no flow. One event follows another without being linked properly. The song 'Mee Baykola Ghabarto', that keeps playing in the background, reminds you of those sexist forwards on social media.

From the teaser, the film comes across as a romantic comedy. It is shot in foreign locations, a rarity in Marathi cinema.

Bhave and Marathe have shared the screen before in films like Sanai Chaughade (2008) and Bandh Nylon Che (2016).

Shubh Lagna Savdhan is Surve’s next film after his debut Shree Partner (2012), which featured Padmanabh Gajanan Bind and Shweta Pagar. The film was the official adaptation of the late celebrated author VP Kale’s well-known Marathi novel, Partner. He also wrote the dialogues for Sonali Bangera’s Sugar Salt Ani Prem (2015).

Shubh Lagna Savdhan will be released on 12 October.
