Actress Seema Pahwa's directorial debut to feature Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma

Actress Seema Pahwa, who was nominated last year at award shows as best supporting actress for her scene-stealing turns in Shubh Mangal Savdhaan and Bareilly Ki Barfi, is turning director for a family drama tentatively titled Pind Daan. The film is supposed to begin filming this November in Lucknow.
Pind Daan, referring to the Hindu ritual performed for the deceased, is said to star Naseeruddin Shah and Konkona Sensharma, along with Vikrant Massey, Vinay Pathak, Parambrata Chatterjee and Seema's husband Manoj Pahwa.
The actress confirmed to us that she was directing a film to us and texted back, "It is [a] family drama based on relationships, emotions, and love." Seema has frequently directed plays for the theatre group, Kopal, formed by her husband Manoj and herself.
Incidentally, Seema is currently acting in Aurat!Aurat!Aurat!, a play on the writings of Ismat Chughtai which is directed by Shah. The actor-turned-film director with Yun Hota To Kya Hota (2006) which starred Sensharma, Ayesha Takia, Jimmy Sheirgill, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani and Irrfan Khan. Meanwhile, Sensharma turned director with A Death In The Gunj (2017).
