Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas make their engagement official with roka ceremony

Congratulations are in order for actress Priyanka Chopra and her fiance, American pop-singer and actor Nick Jonas. The couple held a traditional Punjabi roka ceremony (the official announcement of the consent from both the boy and the girl for matrimony) at the actress's Mumbai residence with their close family and friends by their side.

Chopra and Jonas have reportedly been engaged since her birthday on 18 July where the actor-singer proposed to her in London. The actress has been seen sporting (and occasionally hiding) the four-carat Tiffany & Co. diamond ring from public view.

Jonas and his parents, Kevin Sr and Denise, flew in to the city late Thursday (16 August) night where they were picked up by Chopra. Kevin Sr was carrying a large Tiffany & Co. bag as he headed in to the car.

Last night, the couple had a night out at Juhu's JW Marriott hotel where they had dinner with their families. Chopra's Mumbai residence has been abuzz since morning, with staff busy setting up for the celebrations. Before the puja and roka ceremony, the couple posed together in front of a leafy background that had a logo of their intials 'N' and 'P' intertwined together.

Nick was barefoot in a simple white kurta while Priyanka wore a pale yellow Indian outfit with slippers. The yellow outfit is from the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture. Later tonight, there will be a party at her residence for friends and family to celebrate the engagement.

A few hours after the ceremony, the happy couple made it 'Instagram official' with a pair of matching posts. Chopra captioned her photo of the two gazing into each other's eyes, "Taken.. With all my heart and soul..", while Nick wrote of the same photo, "Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love."
