Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk and Akarsh Khurana’s Karwaan had a decent run at the domestic box office in the second weekend. While Karwaan earned Rs4.25 crore, Mulk made Rs4.75 crore in the three days, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.

Both films were running close to each other in terms of earnings in their first week. Mulk earned Rs11.50 crore in week one and Karwaan finished with Rs12 crore in the same period. The films' earnings showed some jump on Saturday (11 August) and Sunday (12 August). The positive reviews and word-of-mouth enjoyed by both films have reflected in the earnings too.

The grand total of Mulk currently stands at Rs16.25 crore. Karwaan has also managed a very close Rs16.15 crore. As per trade sources, both films are made at an estimated budget of Rs18 crore each.

The films have just two more days in this week (Monday and Tuesday) to earn their share as two biggies, Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate, will hit the screens on Wednesday, 15 August, on the occasion of India's 71st Independence Day.

Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroop 2 was the only significant film to be released this past Friday (10 August). It’s first weekend numbers are too low to report.
