Actor Vikram's fans' association has sprung to the defence of the actor's son Dhruv, who has been accused of causing an accident in Teynampet in Chennai that left one person injured and several vehicles damaged on Sunday morning.
In his statement, the president of Vikram and Dhruv Fans Association, M Surya Narayanan, clarified that the accident in the early hours of Sunday morning was only due to a lapse in concentration and not due to drunken driving as was being speculated by the media.
On Sunday, Dhruv, son of Vikram, one of the top stars of the Tamil film industry, was booked under Sections 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code after his car rammed into three stationary autorickshaws in Teynampet. One of the autorickshaw drivers, who was sleeping inside the auto, was badly injured and had to be rushed to the hospital.
Suryanarayanan said, “There were reports that actor Vikram’s son Dhruv had caused an accident by ramming his car into autos. Dhruv had gone to his friend’s place and was returning home early this morning when unexpectedly, the accident happened. A car and some autos have been damaged in the incident."
“The person who sustained injuries in the accident was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. He has now been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment. We wish to humbly point out that this accident was caused by a lapse in concentration and nothing else,” he added.
