Ajji wins Fresh Blood Best Film award at Beaune International Thriller Film Festival


The 10th edition of the festival was held in Beaune, France.

It is nearly six months since Devashish Makhija's Ajji released in theatres. The film is still going strong internationally and making its presence at film festivals. The dark drama, starring Sushma Deshpande, is about a determined grandmother who avenges the rape of her young granddaughter. It won the Fresh Blood Best Film award at the 10th edition of the Beaune International Thriller Film Festival.

The festival was held from 4 to 8 April in France.

Yoodlee Films, the producer of Ajji, shared the good news on Twitter, writing: "We are delighted to announce that our film Ajji directed by #DevashishMakhija won the Fresh Blood Competition at @BeaunePolar!."

China's The Looming Storm won the Grand Prize, South Korea's Memoire Of A Murderer won the Jury Prize, while Denmark's The Guilty won the Critics' Prize. Ajji was the only Indian film screening in the Fresh Blood competition section.
