Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma has admitted he wrote abusive and offensive posts on his Twitter page.

"Maine jo bhi likha tha apne dil se likha tha [Whatever I wrote was from my heart], it was my team who deleted my tweets. But mai is kutte bikaau reporter se darne wala nahi hu [I am not scared of this corrupt reporter]. He can write anything for anybody just for a few bucks. Shameless."

A slew of offensive and abusive posts from Sharma's Twitter handle left fans of the comedian surprised on Friday. He has now filed a criminal complaint against the entertainment website against whom he was railing.

Earlier, the funnyman had claimed that his account had been hacked.

"Hi all, please ignore the previous offensive tweets as my account was hacked. Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Love and regards to all," Sharma had tweeted late on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, several tweets were posted through Sharma's official Twitter handle, including one requesting the media to not make news of superstar Salman Khan's conviction "negative".

A few posts addressed the hot topic of fake news. "Agar main prime minister hota to fake news banane walo ko faansi laga deta [If I were the prime minister, those who spread fake news would have been hanged]."

A few of the tweets used colourful terms in Hindi. Some were also targeted at a journalist "who only spread(s) negativity about me for very little money".

Besides posting the abusive tweets. Sharma lodged a complaint against the journalist of a "threat to extort and harass by a news agency on the instance of ex-managers to cause mental and emotional suffering".

The complaint said all instances of false and malicious publicity affected Sharma emotionally and he has had to seek professional counselling and take medication.

The complaint also stated that Sharma is very disturbed by comments like a "failed actor. celebrity out of control, choice of wrong life partner".
