Box office: Irrfan Khan's Blackmail collects Rs2.50 crore nett on its first day 

Despite largely positive reviews, Blackmail had low opening day collections.

Actor Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail, which was released on 6 April, largely got positive reviews, but the box office numbers tell another story. The film, directed by Abhinay Deo, could collect only Rs2.50 crore nett on its opening day, as reported by

Blackmail is made at an estimated budget of Rs20 crore, and is said to have been released in more than 1,800 screens.

The producers will hope that the positive reviews help the film's business grow over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the preceding week’s release Baaghi 2 continued to do well with Rs5 crore nett on its eight day. Baaghi 2 has so far earned Rs116.75 crore nett in its Indian business.

Blackmail will have to pull its socks over the next week, come 13 April, Varun Dhawan’s October will be released
