The trailer of the thriller starring Tabu and Bajpayee was released only two weeks before its theatrical release.
Here’s why Manoj Bajpayee didn’t go all out to promote Missing

Directed by first-timer Mukul Abhyankar, Missing, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu, is a thriller set to be released in theatres on 6 April. The trailer of the film, being presented by Abundantia Entertainment and Neeraj Pandey, has sparked curiousity among the viewers.
Interestingly, the trailer was released only two weeks before the theatrical release of the film, and so did the promotions.
In a recent interaction with Cinestaan.com, Bajpayee, who is also the co-producer of the film, revealed why the film's promotion has been kept a low-key affair.
"We have tried our best to keep the suspense under wraps. That is why we decided that we will interact with the media just one and a half week before the release of the film. And that’s why we even released the trailer just 15 days before the (film's) release," he said.
While there is a chance that the potential audience may almost miss watching the film because of the quick and quiet release, Bajpayee feels this is the right strategy for a film of this kind.
"Media is curious and its understandable. But we didn’t want to talk a lot about the film and give out the idea that we don't want to reveal things about the plot or the story. So we are interacting with the media only one and a half weeks before the release and they are not offended that we aren't ready to reveal any details of the film," he added.
Missing is a suspense-thriller which revolves around an Indian couple, played by Bajpayee and Tabu, whose daughter mysteriously disappears in Mauritius. Annu Kapoor plays the investigating officer who tries to unravel the truth behind the disappearance.
