Director Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev has turned out to be a disaster at the box office in the first weekend. The film, starring Rahul Bhat, Richa Chadha and Aditi Rao Hydari, has managed to earn a paltry Rs1.50 crore in the first three days, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.

The political drama hasn’t received positive reviews or word-of-mouth. The film's business was majorly affected due to most awaited the Hollywood film Avengers: Infinity War, which made earth-shattering business in India in the first weekend.

Daas Dev review: Sudhir Mishra's epic political tragedy has potential, but falters on its own hubris

The film opened with the mammoth Rs31.33 crore. The numbers saw a marginal dip on the next day as it made Rs30.25 crore. On Sunday, the film marked its highest collection so far with Rs32.75 crore. The grand total of Avengers: Infinity War currently stands at an outstanding Rs94.33 crore.

With this number, it has become the highest weekend grosser of 2018 by comfortably going past Padmaavat (Rs75 crore) and Baaghi 2 (Rs72.50 crore).

In comparison to the first weekend businesses of Hindi films, only six films — Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Sultan (2016), Dangal (2016), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) and Dhoom 3 (2013) — that are ahead of it. This is a huge achievement for a Hollywood film in India. The previous highest collection by a Hollywood movie in India in the first weekend was Rs40.50 crore by The Jungle Book (2016). Avengers: Infinity War has made more than double of that.

With such numbers, Avengers: Infinity War is expected to earn decently even in the weekdays starting today.
