It seems that filmmaker Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkummar Rao can't do without working with each other. The duo is expected to start work on their sixth project together, tentatively called Swagat Hain, in Mumbai.

In the past five years, Mehta and Rao have made 4 films — Shahid (2013), CityLights (2014), Aligarh (2015) and Omertà (2018) — besides Bose: Dead/Alive, a web series. They were honoured at the National Film Awards 2014 with Best Director and Best Actor trophies for their first film together — Shahid.

The web series, Bose: Dead/Alive, had Rao play Subhas Chandra Bose. Next week, their fourth film together, Omertà, is due to be released in theatres after a slight delay of its initial release date of 20 April.

Mehta confirmed the news of their sixth collaboration to the tabloid, Mumbai Mirror.

"Yes, we are doing this film together and are looking forward to it. Swagat Hain makes a strong statement about freedom of expression, hypocrisy and exploitation of women at the workplace and in personal spaces. It is a little early to reveal any more details on the subject as we are still developing the script. All I can say is that it is inspired by true-life incidents and we are doing something completely new this time," the director revealed.

He admitted that he and Rao discussed the idea for Swagat Hain during the making of Bose: Dead/Alive a year ago. “I have been discussing the concept with Raj and we have always wanted to do this film together. He is a terrific actor and working with him has always been a pleasure," Mehta said.

Rao is currently working on a number of projects including Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with Anil and Sonam Kapoor, Mental Hai Kya with Kangana Ranaut and the horror comedy Stree, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor.
