Box office: October earns Rs6.75 crore nett in second weekend

Shoojit Sircar's October, with its unique story, was not expected to generate great business at the box office. However, after a slow start, the footfalls for the film are gradually increasing.
The film, starring Varun Dhawan and newcomer Banita Sandhu, made Rs6.75 crore nett in its second weekend at the box office, as reported by boxofficeindia.com. The film had earned Rs27.75 crore in its first week.
October is said to be made at an estimated budget of Rs40 crore and released across 1,800 screens in India. It has made Rs34.60 crore nett in its India business so far. The fact that the total India earnings are inching closer to the cost of production bodes well for the film's makers.
Meanwhile, Hollywood adventure drama Rampage, that released with October on 13 April, too enjoyed a decent business in its second weekend with Rs5 crore nett. The film, directed by Brad Peyton, has made a total of Rs23.75 crore nett in India.
