Box office: Hichki holds up well in second weekend, Raid inches closer to Rs100 crore nett


The Rani Mukerji film amassed Rs34.25 crore nett; while Ajay Devgn’s Raid bagged Rs91.18 crore nett in its India business so far.

Even as Baaghi 2 has had a phenomenal start at the box office, the holdover releases continue to run steady at the domestic box office. Actress Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki, that was released on 23 March, made Rs8.25 crore nett in its second weekend, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. The film has so far made Rs34.25 crore nett in its India business.

Hichki had a limited release (960 screens) and it is made at a modest budget of Rs20 crore. Yash Raj Films has produced and distributed the film solely. As per sources, the film is likely to fetch around Rs15 crore through satellite rights, and Rs5 crore through digital rights. Considering all these, the Hichki box office collections are impressive.

Meanwhile, actor Ajay Devgn’s Raid is eyeing Rs100 crore nett in its India business. Raid made Rs6.15 crore nett in its third weekend, thereby taking its India total so far to Rs91.18 crore.
