A few media reports recently claimed that actor Karthi will next be seen in a bilingual film, to be directed by Venu Udugala of Needi Naadi Oke Katha (2018) fame.

However, sources close to the actor have denied these claims.

"There have been several reports that claim that director Udugala has already narrated the script to Karthi and that Karthi too has okayed it. However, there is no truth in such claims. The truth is that no one has approached Karthi regarding such a project," a source said.

According to the source, Karthi has completed shooting for Kadaikutty Singam, a film in which he plays a farmer. Kadaikutty Singam is directed by Pandiraj and produced by Karthi's brother Suriya.

The source added that as soon as the ongoing strike in the Tamil film industry is called off, Karthi will begin work on his next film, tentatively titled Karthi 17.
