Box office: Baadshaho, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan go steady on first Monday

Last Friday's releases — Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan — have so far enjoyed a decent run at the box office. Action thriller Baadshaho bagged Rs5.25 crore nett on its first Monday, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com, while the romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan collected Rs2.40 crore nett.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs80 crore, the Ajay Devgn-starrer has been released across 2,800 screens in India. The Monday collection has seen Baadshaho’s four-day India total swell to Rs41.85 crore nett so far.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pedenekar’s romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan held fort on Monday, earning Rs2.40 crore nett. The film has so far bagged Rs16.54 crore nett. Unlike Baadshaho, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is made at a modest estimated budget of Rs25 crore. It has been released across 1,400 screens in India.
A slew of films will be released this Friday (8 September) — Daddy, Poster Boys and Sameer. However, none of these are likely to affect the run of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Baadshaho a the box office.
