The 1980s and 1990s were rife with rumours of a romance between reigning stars Dimple Kapadia and Sunny Deol. Neither has ever uttered a word on the subject. Over time, the rumours died a natural death and it was assumed that both had moved on.

Now, a video has surfaced that purports to show Deol and Kapadia seated together holding hands at some foreign location.

Self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan posted the video on his Twitter page.

The video is yet to be authenticated, but a report on the website Spotboye.com claimed the duo were filmed while holidaying in London.

Kapadia and Deol starred together in a few films, most notably Nasir Husain’s Manzil Manzil (1984), Rahul Rawail’s Arjun (1985), and N Chandra’s Narasimha (1991).

Kapadia, who was married to the then superstar Rajesh Khanna for almost a decade from 1973 and had two daughters with him, separated from him in the early 1980s and returned to the silver screen. That was also the period when Sunny Deol made his entry in Hindi cinema and began to carve out his own space.

Kapadia and Khanna never formally divorced. Khanna died of cancer five years ago, aged 69. Kapadia turned 60 in June this year. Deol is set to celebrate his sixtieth birthday next month.
