Days before it is to be released after many delays, Haseena Parkar is in the news for the wrong reasons after its costume designers filed a criminal complaint against producer Swiss Entertainment and lead actress Shraddha Kapoor. Budding fashion brand AJTM (Ajay Mistry and Thea Minhas) have accused the producers and lead actress Kapoor for not honouring their contract.

Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, representative of the designers stated: "My clients had worked very hard for the project under their brand name AJTM, as it was their golden entry into Bollywood. After their personal meeting with Ms Shraddha Kapoor, they put their heart and soul into this project titled Haseena Parkar.

"It is very unfortunate that the obligations as undertaken in the agreement were not performed, and my clients felt cheated. Therefore my said clients had no option but to file a criminal complaint against the producer being Swiss Entertainment and Ms Shraddha Kapoor.”

Speaking to Cinestaan.com, Minhas said, “We had a barter deal with Swiss Entertainment, where we would provide our clothesline to the actors in the film, but the actors were to endorse it for promotional activities too. While the actors used our brand in the film, they haven’t promoted it off-screen as agreed upon in the agreement. Last September, we had held discussion at Shraddha Kapoor’s residence where she had agreed to endorse our brand during film promotions and also a ramp show."

Did being delaying thrice affect the promotional strategy of Haseena Parkar? Minhas disagreed, “Yes, the film has been delayed thrice but Swiss Entertainment simply has not be been responding to our calls. With the release just few days away, we were left with no option.”

Based on the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar is set to be released on 22 September.
