Actress Priyanka Chopra recieved a lot of flak earlier this year on social media, when she met the prime minister of India in Berlin wearing a dress while promoting her Hollywood film, Baywatch.

Chopra dismissed the online abuse she received after that in an interview with India Today where she said, “I don’t know why you guys give trolling so much importance, but for me trolling is not news. It never has been. Trolling is just someone’s opinion and who cares about that?”

The actress seemed to indicate that the media attention trolling receives is just bad as the initial trolling itself.

Chopra, who is in India for a two week break, is readying her next production, the Sikkimese film Pahuna, for the Toronto International Film Festival next week. The film is produced under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures.

Chopra also spoke about her upcoming Hollywood projects, A Kid Like Jake (2018) and Isn’t It Romantic (2019), in which she has supporting parts. In the video interview, she also revealed that she has read many scripts and met many filmmakers as she is eager to do a Hindi film soon. Two projects have been shortlisted that may be finally given the nod at some point.

Rumours have also popped that she might bag the lead in Tulia, a film based on a true story, produced by her friend Mubina Rattonsey and directed by Seth Gordon, who also worked with Chopra in Baywatch.

Purple Pebble Pictures will also be producing an Assamese film in the future and the National Award-winning Ventilator will be remade into a Malayalam film under the banner. Chopra said she hopes to produce some Hindi and English projects from her production house as well.

Next, Chopra heads to Toronto with Pahuna where she is also a guest of honour at a gala opening of the festival and later will head to Jordan for a mysterious project.
