Box office: Golmaal Again amasses Rs87.10 crore nett in opening weekend

Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again has enjoyed a great opening weekend after it bagged Rs87.10 crore nett in three days.
Golmaal Again earned Rs28.50 crore nett on Sunday, thereby taking its total so far to Rs87.10 crore nett, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film trade portal had reported the opening day collection between Rs33-34 crore nett, before re-adjusting it to Rs30.10 crore nett.
Golmaal Again has been released across 3,500 screen in India, with trade sources pegging the film’s total budget at approximately Rs130 crore (including prints & advertising).
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's production Secret Superstar, too, enjoyed a fairly decent run during the four-day opening weekend. After an average opening day collection of Rs4.75 crore nett, Secret Superstar consistently crossed Rs8 crore nett over the next three days. The film bagged Rs8.50 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, respectively taking its four-day total to Rs30.75 crore nett.
As per trade sources, Secret Superstar is said to have released across 1,600 screens in India and it is made at an estimated budget of Rs20-23 crore (excluding Khan’s fees). Zee Studios holds the worldwide theatrical rights to the film.
The collections are expected to drop on Monday. What will help the two films, though, is that there is no big release on the coming Friday (27 October), so earnings of Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar could rise over the week.
