Tumhari Sulu is another woman-centric film featuring Vidya Balan. The first trailer of Suresh Triveni’s directorial debut is out and it is replete with light-hearted moments. The trailer promises a sensible entertainer.

The film tells the story of Sulochana aka Sulu. She is a housewife in a middle-class household and passes her time winning prizes in contests announced on a radio station. One day, she gets to know about an RJ (radio jockey) contest. She applies and gets selected as an RJ for a late-night show. Life changes for her as she gains fame overnight.

Previously, Vidya had played an RJ in Rajkumar Hirani’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), but her character in Tumhari Sulu is very different.

Among the many funny moments in the trailer, one that stands out comes at the end. A listener on a phone call with RJ Sulu gives out a laugh. On her guide's instructions, Sulu, too, returns a soft laugh. However, this give and take seems to have no end and an irritated Sulu finally closes the matter with a ghostly howl.

The trailer also focuses on Sulu’s personal life. The immensely talented Manav Kaul, who plays her husband, is the surprise element. The film also stars Neha Dhupia and real-life RJ Malishka Mendonca. Coincidentally, Mendonca had trained Vidya for her character in Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
