Shabana Azmi felicitated by Malaysian prime minister

Veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi was felicitated by Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak at a business leaders' conclave, in the presence of Indian Ambassador to Malaysia TS Trimurti, and Times Group CEO Deepak Lamba.

Javed Akhtar and Azmi were presented with Asia's Power Couple award for their 'exemplary contribution to the field of art and entertainment'. While Akhtar couldn't attend the event, the honour was received by Azmi.

The actress, 67, had earlier tweeted about traveling to Kuala Lumpur for The Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave where she was felicitated by Prime Minister of Malaysia. Later, she posted a few more tweets from the event.

On the acting front, Azmi was last seen on the silver screen in The Black Prince, where she essayed the role of Maharani Jind Kaur.
